In my experience Montréal has always been a welcoming and kind city. I haven't felt that more than when I walked into this bar. I had probably had one of the worst days of luck when it comes to traveling in my life, with every plane I was trying to take home that day being canceled. After ending up booking a bus ride back home with a 5 hour layover in between I wandered into this bar. I was greeted with warmth and comfort from everyone inside. The basic and small acts of kindness even when just doing their job was something so profoundly warm and human after dealing with cold bureaucratic indifference for an entire day. I don't want to post anyone's name without permission but I hope the owners know they have a phenomenal bartender that was working on July 26th 2026 and that you've earned a life long patron whenever I'm back in this great city.
MALT is where you go when you’re in desperate need of your Uncle’s 1970’s basement or your chain-smoking-forever-young grandma’s living room. This aesthetic of this place is one thing, but can we talk about their DRINKS? Delightful, delicious, they’ve got ✨range✨! The blended coffee drink is addictive as hell and is the perfect late night dessert.. it has my heart. If you’re lucky you might even get to taste their fruity little lemon-esque shot. And finally.. Lily. Lily is the BOMB! She runs the best ship in the joint, and slays.. always! May all of the patrons get the chance to meet the lovely Lily :) See you next week 🫵
We were travelling from London Ontario for just under a week. visited malt on our first night and immediately became our staple place for the rest of the trip! Staff were so friendly and helpful, great cozy vibes. Truly a gem!!
Malt was a great place to spend an evening enjoying good music and good drinks 🎶. While many people around us were ordering cocktails 🍸, we kept things simple with a pint 🍺 and a glass of red wine 🍷. The atmosphere immediately stood out and made it an easy place to settle in and relax. The server put the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack on the record player 🎵, which was great fun to listen to while we were chatting 💿. Malt strikes an excellent balance between a hip venue and a traditional pub 🏮, creating an atmosphere that feels very distinctive. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Super nice place! Staff really welcoming, friendly and kind. Very good drinks. I really recommend it.
