Great place to hang out and refresh after a long walk to and through Old Montreal. Set at the northern end along Rue St.Paul, and abutting Notre Dame de Bon Secours Chapel, the pub has outdoor/above ground seating areas, but the real attraction is downstairs - a cool, darkish cellar where the brewing and cooking are done. Seating is plentiful and service is very friendly. Local beer selections and a non-local Apple Cider are on the menu as are various appetizers and main dishes…all pub-and smoked meat centric. Ordered the Cider, Mac and Cheese, Onion Rings, and Smoked Brisket Sandwich, which came with a generous serving of delicious French Fries. Drinks were delicious, food came out freshly made. The Onion Rings were crispy and well-fried, the Mac and Cheese was an utterly heavenly goo of Macaroni and Gruyère and other Cheeses - totally heavenly! The Brisket Sandwich and Fries were on point as well - great burger bun with generous portions of 24-hr smoked Brisket and Cheese! Fries were not greasy and utterly tasty. A wonderful meal following a long walk through Centerville and Old Town, we were set back CAD 58 for the meal and $20 for the drinks, including the heavy federal and state taxes and generous tips. A place worth visiting each time!
The poutine was amazing, very unique and delicious! I went for the smoked meat poutine and it was tasty and filling. The beers were excellent too with a good selection, you can’t go wrong by dinning here or to enjoy a few cold ones!
It was my last stop for my Montreal trip, and the servers were the nicest and kindest I encountered during my trip. They always smiled. I'm not talking about the food or drinks, whatever. The location is good as well. I really liked their service.
This is my second visit here in April 2026, following my first visit in October 2022. Easily one of the top 3 breweries in Montreal. Excellent beer (we took 3 flights, enjoyed all of em) and very hospitable service. Special thanks to our lovely bartender Dankalia who really knew her stuff. When the bartender listens to all your selections and sets them up in the correct order by heart — that is how you do it 🍻🔥
Working in Montreal for the week and while hunting around for dinner I did my usual Yelp'ing! I discovered Pub BreWskey near my hotel so I decided to check it out! Here's how it went... Atmosphere/Appearance: The entrance is kinda off the beaten path and the restaurant is located under what looks like some sort of laboratory. Once down the stairs you're greeted by what feels like an underground speakeasy vibes! There's exposed copper ventilation pipes, exposed warm lightbulbs, raw concrete, wood and quite a few places to sit. I sat at the bar on the metal chairs like all pros do! But off to the side is a set of stairs which leads down to the ACTUAL BREWERY where all of the beer is made! I loved that there were windows in which you could look out of to see the giant vats. Really cool. Service: Dany at the bar took excellent care of me and there was nothing more I could've asked of him. He was attentive, fun and made sure I enjoyed my time there. Food/Drinks: First up I started with their Brew Juice, a beer made right in-house. It was their "beer smoothie". It was sweet, filling, thick, sour and crazy flavorful! Tasted nothing like a beer at all. My first appetizer was the Bacon Jerky which is thick-cut bacon in a beer maple glaze, chili seasonings, sesame seeds and green onions. It was mildly sweet, salty, savory, thick, tender and really, really good and not what I was expecting given the name. My 2nd beer was the Double Goose. This one was deliciously sour, gentle, not too sweet at all or harsh. For my entree I went with their special that was written in chalk on the board! I was the Sandwich of Duck & Lamb. The salad on the side was GREAT! Good bitter greens with rich, robust dressing. The chips the sandwich also came with were seasoned well and had an excellent spicy mayo dipping sauce. Sandwich was GREAT as well! Bread was softer than expected. Rich, buttery flavor. The 2 meats were light and worked well together. The sandwich is called “Sandwich Au Lapin De Cannard”, but “lapin” translates to rabbit. Warm, cheesy, comforting, filling. Lil’ cajun flavor. Caught a bone or 2 while eating it. It happens. Value: It's a brewery that actually serves food and that's always a plus! All prices are in $CAD. My first 12 oz. beer was $8.75. My 2nd one was $9.00. The bacon jerky was $10.00 and the sandwich with salad and chips was $26.00. Extremely reasonable if you ask me. In conclusion, I really enjoyed my time here at Pub BreWskey and I would surely pay this place another visit. Beers rotate all the time so what I had may not even be around by the time you visit.
