It was perfect from start to finish. A late Sunday meal (the only reservation we found on the same day). Everything we had was made to perfection. Oysters, both fresh and baked, wedge salad, steaks and sides. The cocktails were top notch. Th service was perfect. It has been more than a few years since we have been at Gibbys, but we should not have waited this long. The Beef Wellington and the Chocolate Delight, were the highlight for my palate.
The food was perfect! The beef Wellington was cooked to exactly medium rare and was delicious. Oddly enough my favourite part of the meal was the blue cheese wedge salad (not photographed). Our server was excellent and went out of his way to make our meal memorable despite tending to so many customers. If you want a fancy (and expensive) dinner, try Gibbys!
Beautiful experience. Our server was so cool and attentive! She really made the experience special. Food was delicious. Beef wellington was a little bland on taste, but perfectly cooked. Hard dish to make! Lobster was tender and escargot was out of this world. Thank you!
Really nice spot for an authentic steak dinner. The ambiance and location are great, and the whole place has a classic old-school steakhouse feel. The steak plates are around $90 and are more than enough for one person, especially with the generous bowl of salad that comes with them. They did mix up my order and brought me a steak instead of the Wellington I had ordered, but they handled it very well and graciously added the Wellington at no extra charge. Excellent service and a memorable dining experience overall.
Wow, what an experience in Old Montreal. Our server Mary was stellar, food was spectacular and you can not beat the atmosphere. We took our time and enjoyed every minute starting with wedge salad and ending with Irish coffee made table side. Generally portions. It’s pricey but well worth the experience. This is a good reason why Montreal is so wonderful.
