The best spot in the city regardless the time of day. The restaurant offers gorgeous views of the terrace in summer, perfect for drinks and food. The bar is a mood, as it is located right next to it and offers a fun experience. The restaurant is very chill, for dinner/lunch/brunch you can never go wrong as the menu is just delicious. As for the lounge bar, it’s such a vibe although it is very fun when it’s busy just like any spot. The drinks are very well crafted, they can make you anything. The service is always impressive and they do go above and beyond for special occasions. The chefs counter experience is really worth it, or even sitting by the kitchen as it gives you a unique experience. The staff is the best, without them it would not be the same. They do everything for their guests, especially the managers.
I’m giving this restaurant this low of a rate because of customer service. Our server was just plain rude and he looks like he didn’t even want to work there. My boyfriend saw him have the same interaction with the table next to us. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice. We enjoyed most of the food except the steak. I ordered medium rare as usual but I find the steak very chewy compared to the other steak I have tried.
I had such an exquisite dining experience here. I made a reservation for the chef’s tasting at the chef’s counter, and from the moment I arrived, the team already knew my name and immediately seated me. Sitting at the counter gives you an intimate view into everything happening in the kitchen. The energy was fast-paced and precise—it honestly felt like I was inside an episode of The Bear. The chef curated an incredible five-course tasting, and the sommelier paired each course with wines that complemented everything perfectly. I won’t even try to list every dish because I honestly don’t remember them all. The menu isn’t fixed, and I imagine each experience is a little different. I was too busy enjoying every bite and soaking in the experience to focus on memorizing details. Ken took exceptional care of me from start to finish, making sure I was comfortable and that every course met the moment. The chef also came over to chat, which made the experience feel even more personal. The bar was already high, and Marcus exceeded it.
I went to Marcus at the Four Seasons Montréal for Christmas dinner with my mom, and overall it was a wonderful experience. The food and drinks were absolutely amazing. Everything looked incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and thoughtfully executed. I’m usually not a mushroom person at all, but the truffle pasta was genuinely otherworldly. One of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave. The ambiance felt festive yet elegant, and it made for a really special Christmas night with my mom. The only downside was at the very start. Despite having a reservation, we were asked to wait over 30 minutes for our table, while it seemed that someone familiar with the staff, possibly a hotel regular or friend, was seated ahead of us. I understand that this kind of thing can happen in hospitality, especially in high-end hotels, but it did take away a bit from the Christmas spirit and excitement we walked in with. That said, once seated, everything else truly delivered. I wouldn’t let one moment of awkward customer service overshadow how excellent the food, drinks, and overall experience were. If the opportunity comes, I would definitely give it a second chance and go again, and I would still highly recommend Marcus as a standout spot in Montréal. 🫶🏻
If I could leave a 6th star for the entire team at Marcus I would. We hosted our annual holiday party at Marcus and reserve the entire restaurant. I was blown away by the incredible service from the staff and the attention to detail. A huge thank you to Melissa Nudo, Gabriel, Alexandra, Emma and the rest of the staff who made the night a huge success! The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed. Thank you once again for everything.
