I visited Yama a few days ago to celebrate my birthday, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet my expectations. The restaurant itself is beautiful, clean, and stylish, and the atmosphere is definitely one of its strengths. The staff were polite, but the service was fairly average. I had made a reservation in advance and even mentioned in the reservation notes that we were celebrating my birthday. While we were there, the table next to us had an issue because a small fly had landed in their food, and we overheard the server telling them that there was nothing they could do about it. As for the food, it was very disappointing considering the price. No one asked how I wanted my steak cooked, and it was served extremely rare. The chicken portion was surprisingly and almost comically small for what we paid. When I asked them to take my steak back and cook it more, it seemed like they had only seared the outside for a moment. The inside was still just as raw as before. At the end of the meal, the server asked whether we were satisfied with the food. I clearly told them that I was not. Their only response was, “We’re sorry,” and nothing else was done to address the issue. Finally, when it was time to pay the bill, the server suddenly noticed that it had been my birthday and simply said, “Oh, it was your birthday. Happy Birthday.” Overall, while the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, the food quality, value for money, and the way customer concerns were handled left me disappointed.
Jibran was our server at Yama. He greeted us warmly when we first arrived. He was knowledgeable regarding the menu and made a few recommendations. Overall service was efficient and professional. We enjoyed our meal and the bonus was the service provided by Jibram. I will tell my friends to try this restaurant abd the great experience we had.
We recently tried Yama restaurant and were absolutely blown away! Our server Talia was incredibly attentive & friendly but the food was the star of the show. Everything was so delicious and visually the presentation was like art! We capped it all off with a Matcha Mousse and this is hands down THE best dessert we've ever tried. We highly recommend eating at Yama and can't wait to go back!
Over-priced for what they serve. Full of shards of shell in the oysters. Locals next to me left after receiving the menu with the prices stating they were ridiculous. I then had the displeasure of having a few local gentlemen sit next to my table and were obnoxiously loud conversing about money. Scallop sauce was nice and buttery. The chairs are very uncomfortable!
Decent bar snacks, great cocktails. Slipped in for a quick drink during my stay at the hotel. The bar was a ghost town at 3 PM on a Sunday, so I basically got a private session with the bartender. He clearly knew what he was doing, and instead of letting me blindly pick from the signature list, he suggested small tweaks like adding yuzu syrup and zest. I don’t remember the exact builds, but both drinks were smooth and distinctive. Food options were limited during off-peak hours, and I ordered the chicken dumplings and truffle fries. The dumplings came bathed in a tangy soy-based sauce and were fine for the price. The truffle fries were slightly undercooked, though the trio of sauces on the side was good enough.
