I’ve visited this place a few times already and have yet to be disapointed. The place has a warm, welcoming and relaxed ambiance. The decorations gives you so much to look at while you wait for your food which is never very long, the staff has always been very friendly, polite and professional even at peak hours. I wanted to try the chicken parmagiano this time. I was deligthed by flavours coming from the meal, it had the right amount of breading to chicken and enough cheese to cover all of it which is a generous portion I might add. I did wish I had a bit more sauce in the plate, the perfect al dente pasta made up for it. I loved their turamisu it hit the spot for me. The cocktails and wine we’re also quite good but I do wish for more selection when it comes to wine by the glass. I hope they eventually add some cushions to the chair or get entirely new chairs, bare wood isn’t really comfortable for myself. I still highly recommend a visit if your in the area its worth it.
Exceptional! I’ve been to Amerigo so many times for lunch and finally went for dinner. The pasta is just flawless. The ingredients are fresh, it’s cooked to perfection. Noah our waiter was absolutely amazing. Professional, courteous, timely. Really made our experience that much better.
One of my favorite things about this restaurant is its location. It’s in one of my favorite neighborhoods in Montreal, and in the summer the atmosphere on Monkland is hard to beat. The restaurant itself was packed for a Tuesday night, which made for a great vibe. If you can grab a table on the patio, I’d definitely recommend it. I also liked the casual Italian bistro feel of the space. The service was friendly and efficient. A small touch I really appreciated was that they leave a bottle of water on the table so you can refill your own glass instead of waiting for service, especially nice on a warm summer evening. They also serve a fresh house salad before the main course, which was a nice way to start the meal, although I found the dressing a bit too salty. I ordered the carbonara special and was really looking forward to it, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The guanciale was a little too burnt for my taste, and the cheese was very strong and overpowered the dish; I suspect there was more than just Pecorino and Parmesan. Overall, my pasta, as well as my friend’s clam and shrimp pasta, were both a bit too salty. That said, the fresh pasta itself was cooked perfectly. The standout dish of the night was definitely the mushroom gnocchi, absolutely delicious and the one I’d recommend ordering. The drinks were good (you can’t really go wrong with an Aperol Spritz!), and overall I enjoyed the experience. I’d happily come back to try more of the menu, as we’ve only sampled three pasta dishes. Between the atmosphere, the location, and the welcoming service, I think this place deserves another visit.
Had a wonderful meal here today. The standout dishes were the pasta and the octopus. The pasta was rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care, while the octopus was cooked perfectly tender, well seasoned, and beautifully presented. The Aperol Spritz was also a great choice for a warm day. A spot I’d happily return to and recommend to anyone looking for delicious Italian inspired food in a welcoming setting. Highlights: Pasta, octopus, terrace dining, Aperol Spritz, speedy service. 🍝🐙🍹
This is a very small place that feels intimate and cozy. They don’t take reservations so we did have to give our names and walk around for 50 min before they texted us saying our table was ready. However it was worth the wait because the food was delicious and the people who worked there were friendly and attentive. I would go back again :)
