We had such a wonderful meal at Ferreira Café in Montreal! 🦐🦑 The grilled squid was fresh, tender, and absolutely delicious, and the seafood paella was packed with fresh, flavorful seafood. You can really taste the freshness in every bite! The only small downside was that the seafood rice had a slightly grainy texture, likely from some of the clams and mussels. Aside from that, everything was delicious and beautifully prepared. Overall, a lovely dining experience and definitely a place we would come back to! ❤️
What an incredible meal we had with my party there. While there was a slight misunderstanding with our waiter, we had the most flavorful and varied food. Each bite made me travel straight back to Portugal, which was exactly what I needed for my birthday! I couldn’t recommend more this spot - and the seafood rice. It comes in a gorgeous Le Creuset Pot and tastes just like Portugal.
Place is packed, and tables are a bit tight. But it's a place worth a visit. Everything we ordered was very tasty: blackened cod, grilled octopus, seafood bouillabaisse, seafood rice. All amazing! We also split deserts: cheesecake and creme brulee.
My sister recommended this restaurant to us. We made a reservation on the Open table app and had an extraordinary experience. A lovely ambience and fantastic staff, but even better food! We tried the octopus starter and some oysters, for dinner we ordered the halibut and black cod followed by the chocolate mousse dessert. Our server Michael was chatty and made the evening even more enjoyable.
We stumbled upon Ferreira 30 years ago, in 1996 on a 20th wedding anniversary trip to Montreal. We never forgot our first Portuguese meal- so when we visited Montreal for the 50th anniversary, the cafe was high on our list. As delicious as the fare was back in 1996 ( I think it was the year they opened) it’s even better now. My wife had the seafood bouillabaisse with monkfish, fresh cod, shrimp, squid, and clams in a rich broth garnished with fresh cilantro… I had the Ferreira seafood rice. A scrumptious medley with scallops, shrimps, squid, mussels, and clams, garnished with fresh cilantro. We never wanted the meal to end! We sat at the bar for lunch- Jackie, our server was friendly, fast and delightful. She introduced us to the restaurant’s founder who happened to be there- as well as his daughter who is now running things. Nice people. The place has a great vibe; we were there when they opened for lunch and it filled up quickly.
