Okay I’m being generous with my 3, I have reviewed a lot of places good and bad. This is a reason I have 3.3million views of my reviews and am in the top 5% of global google reviewers. 1st the good 1) Taste of the food was good, well seasoned 2) Beautiful Atmosphere The Bad - 1) I understand I was only one customer at the time of visit but that is no excuse for poor service, more in the breakdown. 2) Food came out cold, the butter didn’t even melt, clumped up on my steak and my veggies all cold. 3) Back to the service - Was missing a steak knife and the side sauce. Halfway through when a different sever saw that I was using a table knife and was missing my sauce corrected the issue then. 4) When ordering the most expensive thing on the menu and only being one person, it only takes 5 secs on your way past to make sure everything came out the way it was ordered. 5) As I’m being brought the bill is when I was finally asked how it was. Which I basically stated what I just wrote, I got back I will pass on your feedback. So I too am just passing on the feedback. It was a shame, I was looking forward to this location.
This place was beautiful. The atmosphere is elegant and welcoming. The noise level is great for conversation. We really appreciated that it wasn't loud. They made my great uncles celebration very special. Service was excellent, she was attentive by topping up our wine when needed, a dish came out a bit cold they recooked the whole plate quickly enough, she also brought out a surprise desert with sparkler. Food was excellent! The food was seasoned perfectly and everyone in our party was happy with taste and presentation. We tried the duck, octopus, Arctic char and lamb, plus a few desserts. Pavlova is incredible. Thank you again for a special evening.
Stunning restaurant with beautiful decor. Unfortunately the good ends there like what many people said. We came here for brunch on Sunday and service was very slow and we had to follow up a couple times or go to the bar ourselves to get something . Drinks took 30 minutes to come and food was mediocre and not that impressive for hotel quality. The omelette was quite bland. The avocado toast was OK, but nice vinaigrette on the salad. The chocolate croissant was delicious though. Hopefully management takes this feedback & improve their service efficiency in the future.
We had an amazing dinner 🍽️ at Brasserie 701, right in front of Basilica Notre-Dame De Montréal. This is our second visit to this restaurant located inside the hotel. We always get thrilled with the ambience inside. Me and my wife ordered Beef 🥩 Bourguignon for the main course and a cocktail 🍸 The beef was well cooked and it was yummy. Nice aroma of the spices. We both enjoyed it. We highly recommend to make reservations in advance as it is always packed. In addition, I would also recommend to dress casually/professionally, rather than wearing shorts or junky-cut dresses (I saw some people wearing that, which I found a bit unethical). I always wear three piece suit for a candle 🕯️ light dinner 🍲 with my wife. Will visit again in the future. Merci beaucoup.
We were 3 couples and we were trying out the "Happening Gourmand” menu for $49. We were warmly greeted and seated at our table. Our waiter Kenny was excellent. He was efficient and attentive. The decor of the restaurant is very appealing and had former bank vibes. The washrooms need a deep clean and a slight refresh but are well equipped. With the Happening Gourmand menu, you get a choice of soup or salad. One person took the soup and said it was delicious. The rest of us took the spinach salad. It was good but was heavy on the salt. The dressing was yummy. My wife and I took the braised beef cheek and despite the plates arriving covered with stainless steel lids to our table, the food was almost cold. Once again, the beef jus reduction sauce was on the salty side and the beef cheek was on the dry side and not as tender as it should have been both being braised and a cut of beef which is usually very tender. Plating was also ordinary and lacked any creative/artistic appeal. All in all the meal was decent but lacked culinary finesse. The service and decor definitely add to the experience.
