Great choice for breakfast! A line forms outside before they open the doors so get here early. Great food and good service. My coffee and water glass was filled every few minutes. I love my bacon and eggs every day and this place didn't disappoint. My daughter ordered pancakes which came in a large bowl. We had no syrup. These pancakes were mildly sweet and sitting in a bath of brown butter. The flavor and texture were amazing. The tables are closely positioned to your neighbor, and it gets loud in here. I felt like it was a large family gathering. It's clean and modern and the service is quite good. We didn't wait long for our breakfast to arrive. I had a cappuccino that was made to perfection as well.
Finally made it to Dandy and it definitely lived up to the hype. The first thing I noticed was how fresh everything tasted, especially the bread—it was warm, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and honestly one of the best parts of the meal. The fried chicken sandwich was juicy and perfectly cooked, and the egg on top was done just right. The halloumi sandwich was also delicious, with fresh ingredients that worked really well together. Even the side salad was crisp and well-seasoned instead of feeling like an afterthought. Great coffee, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu.
Nos recomendaron mucho este lugar para el almuerzo, decidimos pedir los buttermilk pancakes with Ricotta, without a doubt the best Pancakes I’ve ever had in my life, those pancakes swimming in a light Maple syrup were out of this world. We also ordered buttermilk fried Chicken Sandwich topped with a fried egg, delicious choice. As a digestive I’ve ordered a Latte Chai with Oat Milk and a shot of Bourbon… Get the out of here! I am impressed.. Service, ambience, everything made our meal a great experience. We will be back when we make it back to Montreal.
Had a great Saturday brunch at Dandy’s on St. Jacques Street. We were 4 and had a 30 minute wait. Outside seating was available sooner. We wanted to experience the restaurant and were glad we waited. Super pretty restaurant with a great vibe. Service wasn't the fastest because it was packed, but everyone was very friendly. After all the recommendations and reviews, I had to try the signature Ricotta Pancakes with maple brown butter sauce and lemon cream. They were so amazingly good ! My friends each had the Smoked Salmon Toast with poached egg, dill pickle cream cheese, heirloom tomatoes, fresh herbs, arugula, and lemon on thick house bread. They loved it. I got to sample it too and agreed. We also shared a great fresh Green Salad with mixed greens, shaved fennel, toasted almonds, and Italian vinaigrette. The people who had been waiting in line beside us ended up seated next to us and offered us a taste of the Crispy Smashed Fingerling Potatoes. They were fabulous. Was happy we waited. Great food, great atmosphere, and a really enjoyable brunch experience. 🥞🥗☕️✨😊
I had brunch at Dandy in Old Montreal on a Friday during the daytime, and it was absolutely stellar. I initially assumed there wouldn’t be a lineup, but to my surprise (and now very understandably), there was about a ~10-minute wait for a table. Once seated, I was greeted by a very attentive and welcoming server (a very sexy, muscular and handsome server—sorry to objectify you, I didn’t catch your name! ;-) ) who truly made the experience exceptional. The service was thoughtful, warm, and incredibly on point throughout. As for the food—the mushroom toast is something I’m still dreaming about. It was rich, perfectly balanced, and layered with a variety of mushrooms that made every bite feel indulgent and satisfying. So, so good. The entire experience was absolutely worth the short wait. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Montreal—it will definitely be on my must-visit list every time I’m back. Thank you for the amazing service and unforgettable food. Looking forward to be back soon
