Fleurs et Cadeaux Restaurant

Arrived off a flight from London and headed over to Fleura et Cadeux off a recommendation..from the outside, you would never go in, but looks can be deceiving. Everything was top notch, the decor, the lighting, the music, service and the food...the food is a delight. Flavours galore, emulsions and light sauces and the DIY temaki. Fried chicken is off the charts, the special of the day was a red miso and carrot emulsion vegetable dish. Out of sight. Only quibble is acoustically it is loud. Otherwise, high marks. Well done.
We did menu tasting 5 dishes ($70 per) and order the duck. All the dish is great, fresh ingredients, good flavour profiles. For personal preference, I wish the udon has a little stronger taste of sesame. Overall, everything is good 😊
Just came here for dinner at Fleurs & Cadeaux since we were staying right across the street, and what an incredible surprise. Don’t be deceived by the exterior. The moment you walk in, it feels like you’ve been transported to another era. What was once an old flower shop has been transformed into a beautiful Japanese-inspired vintage space, complete with an amazing vinyl soundtrack, warm lighting, and one of the best atmospheres we’ve experienced in Montreal. We started with the three-day white miso-aged duck, lightly charred and absolutely spot on. The flavors were deep, balanced, and unforgettable. For drinks, I had the matcha yuzu cocktail, which was exceptional and one of the highlights of the evening. The Alberta beef bavette yakiniku, marinated in shoyu koji and cooked medium rare, was outstanding. You could smell the beautiful char in every bite. Paired with the mushrooms and grilled Brussels sprouts I believe, it was a perfect combination of textures and flavors. We also tried the Tantan Udon, which had just the right amount of spice—flavorful, comforting, and delicious without being overpowering. The Poulet Nanban (fried chicken) was another standout and easily one of the best versions I’ve had. To finish, we had the hojicha cheesecake for dessert with cream and yuzu, which was beautifully balanced and the perfect ending to the meal. The service elevated the entire experience. The gentleman with glasses, Juliette, and the rest of the team were fantastic—explaining every dish and drink, checking in regularly, refilling our water, and making us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the evening. Considering the quality of the food, the impeccable service, and the incredible ambiance, I would say this experience rivals many Bib Gourmand restaurants I’ve visited during my travels. Having dined at numerous Michelin-starred and Bib Gourmand establishments around the world, I’m honestly surprised that Fleurs & Cadeaux hasn’t yet received that recognition. It’s one of the more notable omissions I’ve come across. If you’re visiting Montreal, you’re in for a treat. If you read this review, just go ahead and book yourself. I tell you, this is a good value for what it is. From start to finish, this was a beautiful dining experience that I would happily return to again and again.
Had the most memorable birthday dinner here, looking after by the warmest and friendliest team! The food was divine and the prices were very reasonable! The duck breast and roast beef were exceptional. This place is a must-visit whenever I’m back in Montreal!
Absolutely my fave dinner for our Montreal trip. Everything was super tasty, especially that miso-aged DUCK! I was convinced to go by the reviews about the duck, and it exceeded all of our expectations. This was such a lovely experience, and such a great way to get a variation of Japanese flavours in Montreal. Our server was amazing and did not hesitate to explain any questions we had about the menu, including how many dishes she suggested for our group size, as well as our options for a tasting menu if we wanted. We ended up just ordering a la carte, but I’m sure we would have loved the tasting menu just as much. Food came out in waves based on when she thought food should come out, and it was a phenomenal experience. We’ll have to make this a stop everytime we’re back.
