Small and cozy restaurant that deliver great ambiance, very tasty food and surrounded by motivated staffs. I took the beef carpaccio and the seafood risotto. And I recommend them.
Absolutely LOVED the food and vibes of this beautiful place! I had a mule, fish & chips, and lemon pie. My colleague had the pasta, the lavender mule, and creme brule. We loved our little table by the window. Service was excellent!! Thank you for a wonderful meal and experience!! ❤️❤️❤️
Tried this restaurant for lunch. The clientele is mostly corporate people, which makes for a nice atmosphere. The food was very good, and the service was solid as well. We had the burrata & tomato and the smoked salmon as starters, followed by the grilled tuna and salmon tartare as mains. Everything was delicious. I would definitely go back. Street parking is available, but spots are limited. VEGANS can choose from gnocchi with mushrooms and pesto (as a main), fried cauliflower with mouhamara sauce, or Brussels sprouts (entrés).
This place really surprised us. The menu seemed very mundane but what you were given was high quality ingredients cooked very well. Started with the brussel sprouts and calamari. The brussel sprouts were cooked to perfection with poached pears with the natural flavor coming out in each bite. The calamari was some of the most crispy bites we’ve ever had. Our mains included seafood risotto, lamb shoulder, hanger steak and cod fish and chips. Lamb shoulder hands down the best of the bunch. Tender moist and delicious flavor. Seafood risotto was full of textures and flavor. Fish and chips had a wonderful slaw topped with caviar. Hanger steak was cooked to perfection medium rare with a wonderful char. Flavors were all seasoned and exquisite without being over powered. Dessert included a lemon pie and cream brûlée. Lemon pie was very different a worth a try and the crème brûlée was probably the most plain but presentation was gorgeous. We recommend reservations as seats were limited and we lucked out getting a seat. Service was spot on and attentive. Definitely recommend this place.
We had to stay in downtown Montreal a little longer than planned and ended up staying for dinner. We were just walking around the area when we literally walked right in front of the restaurant and decided to give it a try. What a fantastic decision! Le Carré was amazing. It started with excellent service, then we had the soupe du jour, tuna tartare for me, beef tartare for my wife, and finished with lemon tarts and carré à l’érable. The food was outstanding. It turned out to be a great find, and we will definitely go back again.
