Well made, nice quality pork katsu with curry & rice. Service staff were really nice & attentive. They were out of the menu item I wanted, but to be fair I went in a very busy weekend. Interesting spot in Chinatown.
A very cozy, homestyle Japanese restaurant located right inside Chinatown! I ordered the Udon Hoshi Katsu and really appreciated how generous they are with the crispy cod katsu and scallop katsu. However, I’m not entirely sure how well the guacamole pairs with the udon. I also wish they would serve the fried fish and scallop on the side, as the steam from the hot udon tends to soften the crispy crust of the katsu. If they are going for a fusion angle, a citrus and rice pairing might work a bit better here rather than mixing it with the heavy katsu sauce. That being said, it's a lovely spot and I'd definitely say come out to support this small business! I really hope to see them refine the dish and improve over time.
Rosu katsu - Pork was tender and juicy. A bit bland. There was Not as much fat as I expected in this cut. Many places that serve katsu, serve cabbage salad with a sesame dressing. They have a more yozu type. It was fine Best part of meal is the free tasty creamy mushroom soup! Service was great. Very friendly and helpful.
A small Japanese restaurant tucked away in Montréal’s Chinatown. They’re known for dishes like tonkatsu, beef hamburg steak, and sashimi rice bowls. I had the tonkatsu set meal—the soup was creamy with a strong peppery note, and the cutlet was crispy while still juicy inside. Portions were satisfying and the sauces were a nice touch. Seating is limited, so it’s worth arriving early for dinner.
Food was great! Friendly staff and reasonable prices. We ordered the the spicy salmon salad, rosu katsu udon and the curry katsu don The katsu was very good and flavourful, some pieces were slightly tough, but for the most part very tasty and tender, and the curry sauce is great. Salad is very refreshing. Would definitely come back!
