What a gem! This charming little café offers fantastic food at surprisingly reasonable prices for the location. The menu creatively combines traditional old-country flavors with modern elements, making for a unique and delicious experience. The coffee was exceptional, and their pastries were absolutely wonderful, fresh, flavorful, and the perfect complement to a morning coffee. The staff handled the crowds with impressive poise, professionalism, and a positive attitude. Highly recommended!
We absolutely love both The Cubain and the Breakfast Panini! The Cubain: Meaty, savory, and packed with flavor. Breakfast Panini: The addition of fresh tomato and a perfect level of spiciness gives it a kick that balances everything out. On top of the great food, I just love how cozy and relaxing the overall vibe of this cafe is. It's the spot to unwind!
Google reviews didn’t lie when they said that if you’re in Montreal, this is one of the must-visit spots in the city. We tried the famous Cubano sandwich and the grilled cheese with caramelized onions, and both were incredibly satisfying and delicious. These aren’t cheap sandwiches for $25 each, but the quality absolutely delivers. The Cubano was packed with flavor, with perfectly balanced fillings and beautifully toasted bread that stayed crisp with every bite. The grilled cheese was equally memorable. Made with a blend of melted cheeses and sweet caramelized onions, every bite was rich, gooey, and indulgent without feeling overwhelming. Combined with the perfectly crisp, buttery bread, it’s the kind of sandwich you’ll still be thinking about hours later. The atmosphere is another reason why this place stands out. It has a charming, bohemian vibe that’s both cozy and energetic. It’s busy, there’s almost always a line, most likely seats needs long wait on the weekends, and after experiencing it firsthand, it’s easy to understand why. Btw, I wasn’t able to snag a seat so I took it on the road. And the mocha? Easily one of the best I’ve had in Montreal. Rich, balanced, and comforting—definitely a standout. Yes, you’ll pay more than you would for an ordinary sandwich, but this is far from an ordinary sandwich shop. The quality, atmosphere, and overall experience make it well worth the visit. If you’re in Montreal, do yourself a favor and don’t skip this place.
This café was right on the corner of the hotel where we were staying, so we decided to give it a try. The first thing that caught our attention was that there was a line to get in, which made us think it must be a good place. Fortunately, the wait was quite quick; we waited around 20 minutes, and they also have several benches where you can sit comfortably while you wait. The food and drinks were incredible, everything was delicious and very well prepared. We also loved the décor of the place, which has a very pleasant and cozy atmosphere. The staff is very friendly.
A lunch well spent at Olive et Gourmando in downtown Montreal on Wednesday; July 1, 2025; which happened to be CANADA DAY. It was a planned school friend’s reunion, and it turned out absolutely perfect. It’s easily one of the best brunch/lunch spots in the city. Even when it’s busy, the line moves quickly, and the atmosphere is bright, cozy, and full of energy with a lively open-kitchen vibe. The staff are warm, attentive, and efficient, which made our gathering even more enjoyable. The food was outstanding across the board. The sweet ricotta was a standout, and everything else—from the fresh, well-balanced plates to the ultra-flaky pastries—was packed with flavor. The coffee is top-notch and pairs perfectly with their baked goods. Prices are on the higher side, but fair for the quality and central location. Overall, truly worth the visit and a place I’d happily return to again.
